Lake Nockamixon provides something to do for the entire family.

Nockamixon state park is over 5000 acres with a 1450 acre lake. The lake has several boat ramps, a marina and boat rentals.  About 3000 acres are open to hunting. The park is adjacent to state game land 157.  The park also has fishing, biking, hiking and equestrian trails. The is a swimming pool (Fee required). You can also picnic and rent cabins in addition to the Weisel Youth Hostel. In the winter months there is skiing, ice skating, Ice Fishing and Sledding. For shooters, there is a rifle and trap range in State Game Land 157.

Recreational Activities at the park include

  • Hiking – 3 miles of trails

  • Biking almost 3 miles of bicycle trails.

  • Horseback Riding 20 miles of trails and rentals available nearby.

  • Picnicking – Some of the facilities are available year round.

  • Swimming – You are not allowed to swim in Lake Nockamixon, but there is a swimming pool available.

  • Boating – Up to 20 HP with four boat launching areas. See our review of Nockamixon boat rentals

  • Fishing – A variety of fish are available including: smallmouth and largemouth bass, walleye, catfish and carp. You can fish by boat or the fishing pier.

  • Hunting – Species include: deer, pheasant, rabbit and turkey. Dog training only in designated areas during certain times. Please check all regulations first!!

  • Cross-country Skiing

  •  Sledding and tobogganing

  • Ice Fishing

  • Ice Skating

There is a  Youth Hostel  and Cabins available.

Haycock Mountain dominates the view of one end of the Lake.
