| The Landing is located in the heart of New Hope on River Road, just north of the bridge. There is a parking lot nearby sponsored by the Fire Department and metered street parking (about .25 per 20 minutes). Parking can be tight during busy times. The Landing itself is a typical quaint New Hope building that sits well back from the main road. There a many special touches such as an ice sculpture of an eagle at the gate. Some of the seating offers a spectacular view of the Delaware River. The restaurant is cozy and is completely non smoking. It is great for intimate dining but they are also kid friendly. The service was excellent throughout the meal. We started with a garlic-onion bread. For an appetizer, I shared the lobster, shrimp and chicken spring rolls. The rolls are crispy and include with spinach and bell pepper, lemon-black truffle mayonnaise, mandarin XO sauce. (10.95) For the main course, I had the House made Lobster and Sweet Potato Raviolis with Grilled Cepes, Shaved Locatelli and Foie Gras Butter (22.95). Dessert was a delicious Warm Apple Cobbler with Maple-Walnut Ice Cream ($6). They accept major credit cards. If you haven’t been to New Hope before, you might want to arrive early and visit the antique, book and clothing shops in the town. 4 covered bridges | The ambience at the Landing is nothing but cool elegance. Wonderful jazz piped in, fantastic view of the river, long tapers aglow, white linen cloths, wood beam ceilings, tiffany lamps, two fireplaces ablaze. The lentil vegetable beef soup was luscious – very smooth with a pinch of hot. Egg rolls were robust with oriental flavorings – also with a pinch of hot. The garlic onion bread was very fresh and crisp. For dinner I had pan seared jumbo lump crab cake, pumpkin stuffed gnocchi, wild mushrooms, caramelized onions, and butternut squash coulis. For dessert, I had anise and port wine poached pears with sweet mascarpone, toasted pine nuts, ginger syrup with balsamic reduction. 4 covered bridges |
