| Trattoria Mediterranea is located on State Street in the heart of Newtown. You can park on the street or try the municipal lot behind the restaurant. They have a rear entrance directly to the lot. As the name suggests, the fare is Italian and Mediterranean. The tables are set a little too close for truly romantic dining but the setting is intimate. The clientele is extremely friendly. The staff is friendly and attentive. We started with the Bruschetta. This was excellent with lots of garlic and oil. For the main course I had the Lasagna. It was a good portion and delicious. The Cappuccino was excellent and inexpensive. We finished with selections from the desert tray. There are a number of quaint shops on the street. However, you might want to try them before dinner since many close early. 3 Covered Bridges | The Restaurant is very cozy and intimate. For appetizers, we had Bruschetta which was excellent – just bread, tomatoes, olive oil, and lots of garlic. I had the seafood salad which had scallops, clams, mussels, and lots of shrimp over salad greens with Italian dressing all at its peak of freshness. The lasagna was also very good. They have a very varied menu selection. Desserts were also excellent with a wide range of choices. 3 Covered Bridges |
