There is a gas log fireplace in the corner of the room. We went for their brunch. Our son opted for the waffles and blueberries. I shared some of the Marguerita Salad which was a true taste sensation. I started with a tomato and white bean soup which was the soup de jour ($5) . I prefer my soup without a lot of pepper. The soup was exactly the way I like it. I ordered the Grilled Paillard of Chicken ($11) which comes with Boursin mashed potatoes and roasted garlic jus. I also ordered a cappuccino which came in an oversized cup. For desert I ordered the chocolate cake which was chocolate mousse with a crunch cookie like crust. Delicious.. There is plenty of free parking in their lot. There are a few shops nearby and walking paths along the old canal. | The Yardley Inn is very close to the Delaware river – so you get an excellent view from the enclosed dining porch . Food is Top Notch. Clam chowder ($6)had a tomato base with many tender clams and carrots. The popular Marguerita salad was incredibly good – with candied walnuts, chunks of blue cheese, melon, strawberries – all over baby spinach leaves. The crab cake ($14) was extremely fresh and it was full of crab chunks. The vegetables were mash potatoes and carrot and squash medley. For dessert I had Tiramisu. Go any chance you can – indulge—than relax and linger —while the river floats by. |
